Here's My Historical Fiction that I Wrote

Pilgrims on the Mayflower

“Come on, Lucy! Time to go find America.”

“Do you have Sophie?” I said. (Sophie is my cat.)

“Yes I do. Now come on. Mom is already on the ship and the captain is about to take off. COME ON, LUCY! HURRY UP!”

“Okay, Dad…”

“Lucy! Where are you?”

“Dad, I’m right here. And now that I’m on the ship, I feel like I’m going to throw up. Dad, I’m going to throw up.”

“Okay, come on. We’ll go below deck where Mom is and you can throw up in an empty barrel.”

Then the captain took off. After two hours, we had dinner. And for dinner we had rolls and fruit and water. Then we put down the blankets and pillows and went to sleep.

Then I woke up and my mom and dad and everyone was awake. We had fruit for breakfast, and bread. And that’s pretty much all we did for fifty-five more days. Eat, sleep, and get sick.

Then finally my dad said, “Land ho!” It took about five minutes to get to the island. And when we got there I was thirsty. It was like my cat could understand me. And guess what she did next: she ran up a tree and came down with a coconut. And she scratched at it with her claws until it broke open. I got to drink coconut milk. I think that’s what it’s called. It was mostly just sugary water-milk taste. Then I got to have that crunchy stuff inside for a snack.

Then Mom started to sew some new clothes, and that’s pretty much what all the girls did. But the men and boys worked on the houses and the kids explored or ate and drank coconuts. But me and my friends played and explored. And guess what we did!

We helped the baby turtles escape from the birds and all the baby turtles lived. Then our moms called us and it was dinnertime. And we told them all about how we saved the turtles and they were very proud of what we did.

Then, two days later, we saw a man with different skin color. And he said, “I am friend. I come from a tribe. My master wish to see you to make a deal for trade of food and clothes. We also help you all learn how to grow food better and how make a better home for all of you.” (He was just learning English.)

Everyone was silent. “Hey, I think it’s a great idea.” And that’s what we did for a few weeks. And then we had a big feast, and it was called Thanksgiving. (And you should all know what that is.)

In school I just finished my historical fiction! And this is its name- Pilgrims on the Mayflower. And just if you guys don't know I'm 9 years old and in forth grade. And I am in Ms.O class.And I know her first name .......... and it's Karen o'kane ! :) I got to go to bed ...so bye!

Gettysburg

I'm back and I have something to tell you. I went to Gettysburg!

And I went to Gettysburg because I was going on a class field trip and my mom got to come and that was the first time she came with me on a field trip.

And we got to see cannons and bullets and more different stuff they used in the Civil War! And I got to go on the Observation Tower and it was really high, and it was so high that it went over the big trees.

And we got to go on the watch tower and it looked like a castle. I also got to play around the BIG, BIG, big, big, big, big, big rocks over by the castle.

we always have turkey and potatoes!
we usually get to go meet with friends or family!

This year I'm thankful for:

food
friends
family
water
drinks
and schools, houses, beds, gloves, hats, scarves and coats and everything to keep us warm
and the earth, and everything we will need to survive, and
everything in the world.

emptying the dish washer (which I HATE!)
